I’ve got an idea for a new test required for all people running for political office. It’s one question, given Mad Libs style, as follows: Find the logical flaw in the following statement: Government doesn’t create jobs, private businesses do. I know a lot about creating jobs, because as  position in government  I created over  very large number  jobs.

Ok, 1) competition in any market is awesome, 2) can we please stop with the “my unreleased, future product is so much more awesome that your existing, on-the-market product!” demos? It’s faster? Sweet! Is it out yet? No? Then I don’t really give a crap.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Objective-C and Python. And Javascript. And Perl. But PHP 5.3 is fast, stable and our framework helps to obfuscate those little language quirks. It’s not the language, it’s coder. All languages have strengths and weaknesses and PHP’s strength is in developing fast web apps, quickly. The modern coder’s toolbox should contain a wide variety...

mattpayton: Why is it after all these years he still has to be the one to come in and show the rest of them how it’s done? He’s like the guy at your work who has been trying to retire for the last 10 years, but stays on as a “consultant” because none of his successors know what the fuck they’re doing. Holy Crap! My Dad is just like Bill Clinton. Seriously, though, Bill you know I love you....

You can't babysit your own kids
So, I’m going to start a workshop. It’s going to be called “They’re your kids, too, you lazy douche bag.” Subtitle: “You can’t babysit your own kids.” I’m going to try to get Bill Cosby to headline. It’s going to be awesome. Who’s in?

“Only” 6% of printed book sales. Only. Subjective much? Printing presses have been around for almost 570 years, so I’d say that a 6% incursion into that market is pretty freaking awesome. What’s next, Slashdot? “Apple only 9% of US PC market.” OMG, Apple is doomed!

So STFU all the people who asked me why I’m buying a Kindle instead of an iPad. I’ll say it again, I’m not the iPad’s target user (I love my laptop too much) and just because I enjoy using Apple products doesn’t mean that I’m going to buy every single product they produce? If someone likes Dell computers, do you give them a hard time when they don’t buy...

marco: Know why the iPhone 4’s antenna grip got tons of attention but there aren’t stories about the same sorts of minor flaws on other phones? Because if there’s a minor flaw with whichever Droid Xtreme Edition or HTC Whatever is being hyped by the gadget blogs this month, who cares? … which is what I’ve been trying to say, but put far more eloquently than I could.
